Call for Abstracts: Posters & Case Presentations

When is the last day to submit an abstract?

The last day to submit an abstract for consideration in the 31st Annual International Meeting is 11:59 pm Central Daylight Time (UTC-5) on Wednesday, April 1.

When will I be notified if I will be accepted into the 31st Annual International Meeting program?

Notifications will be sent out in mid-to late June 2026.

Do I need to attend the conference if I am accepted? Can a co-author present if the main author isn’t available?

Accepted presenters must register for the meeting if they plan to present. Yes, a co-author can present in your place if you are unavailable.

Are virtual-only attendees eligible to submit a poster?

Yes. Virtual-only attendees may submit an abstract for a poster that will be presented online only. To be considered for a podium presentation, poster presentation with live Q&A at an in-person monitor, or a case presentation, the presenter must attend the conference in person.

Do co-authors need to submit a COI form?

Yes, anyone involved in the abstract must submit a disclosure form; otherwise, your abstract will not be considered.

Do speakers receive a discount?

ABM does not offer registration discounts for registration for accepted abstract submissions.

Symposia Proposals

What is the role of the chairperson, and how many speakers are required for a symposia submission?

Each symposia proposal must designate one chairperson and three speakers. The chairperson serves as the primary point of contact for the submission and is responsible for coordinating with speakers, ensuring that submission details are accurate, and confirming that all required disclosure forms are completed by the deadline.

The chairperson may choose to be one of the three speakers, but is not required to do so. If the chairperson does not present, all three speaker roles must still be filled by other presenters.

Although the submission form may describe this as “up to three speakers,” the system currently requires all three speaker slots to be completed in order to submit a proposal successfully. All listed speakers, including the chairperson if serving as a speaker, must confirm their participation via email and complete all required disclosure forms by the submission deadline.

How are speakers added to a symposia submission?

When speakers are listed on a symposia proposal, each speaker will receive an email invitation to participate in the submission. Speakers must confirm their participation through this email in order to be included. A submission is not considered complete until all invited speakers have confirmed.

What is the Submission Agreement?

Before completing a symposia proposal, the submitter must review and acknowledge the Submission Agreement. This agreement confirms that the submitter understands and accepts the disclosure, accreditation, and submission requirements associated with the proposal.

Who is required to complete disclosure forms?

The chairperson and all listed speakers on a symposia proposal are required to complete both the ACCME Disclosure Form and the IBLCE Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form. These requirements apply to every individual listed on the submission.

Why are two different disclosure forms required?

ABM is accredited by multiple organizations and must comply with their standards. The ACCME Disclosure Form ensures compliance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education’s Standards for Integrity and Independence, while the IBLCE Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form is required for education eligible for Continuing Education Recognition Points (CERPs).

What is the deadline for completing disclosure forms?

All required disclosure forms must be completed by 11:59 p.m. Central Daylight Time (UTC–05) on April 27, 2026. This deadline applies to the chairperson and all listed speakers.

What happens if a disclosure form is missing or incomplete?

Submissions that are missing completed disclosure forms for any listed chairperson or speaker will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed by the selection committee.

Does submitting a proposal guarantee it will be reviewed?

Only complete submissions received by the submission deadline will be considered for inclusion in the 2026 Annual International Meeting program. Completion includes speaker confirmation and all required disclosure forms.

Can disclosure forms be submitted after the proposal deadline?

No. Disclosure forms must be completed by the submission deadline. Late or incomplete disclosures cannot be accepted.

Presentation & Recording

Do I need to attend the conference in person if selected for a symposia, clinical case, or podium presentation?

Yes. All symposia, clinical cases, and posters selected for podium presentation are required to be presented in-person at the conference in Toronto.

Will my live presentation be recorded or livestreamed?

No. Live, in-person sessions will not be recorded or livestreamed during the conference.

Why am I being asked to pre-record my presentation?

Pre-recorded presentations are required to support the creation of enduring educational content that will be available on the conference platform after the meeting.

Is the pre-recorded presentation in addition to the live presentation?

Yes. The pre-recorded presentation is separate from—and does not replace—the in-person presentation.

What will be available on the conference platform after the meeting?

Only the pre-recorded presentation will be available for on-demand viewing as enduring content.

What does acceptance of a podium presentation imply?

Acceptance confirms your ability to attend the conference in person and to submit a pre-recorded presentation by the required deadline.
